Connect with us, visit our sanctuary and discover how you can help disabled dogs build strength and confidence
We would love to welcome you to our sanctuary at Puwakwatta, Kongashena, Midigama, Ahangama, Sri Lanka. The nearest train station and bus stop are in Ahangama, and from there a short tuk tuk ride — just ask for 'The Dog House' — will bring you to us. Visitors are invited to join our daily tour at 10:30am, except on Wednesdays and Sundays.
As we are a working animal sanctuary, it is important to arrive on time, as we run only one tour per day and unfortunately cannot admit visitors after it has begun. We kindly ask that you dress comfortably and appropriately (trousers or shorts, T-shirts, and practical footwear are ideal) and bring any food or drinks you may need, as these are not available on site. We look forward to meeting you and sharing our work with you.
We are incredibly grateful to the compassionate individuals who support our work at the sanctuary. Caring for over 2,000 rescued animals is a daily commitment, and every helping hand makes a meaningful difference. From feeding and cleaning to enrichment and rehabilitation, there are many ways people may be able to assist, depending on our capacity and the needs of the animals at the time.
