Will you help me?

Together, we can end their suffering

Severely injured dog receiving lifesaving care after rescue

The suffering of animals in Sri Lanka is heartbreaking, but we believe that by helping one dog, one cat at a time, we can create a lasting and meaningful difference in their lives with your support.

With over 3 million stray dogs in Sri Lanka, the need is overwhelming. At Animal SOS Sri Lanka, we currently care for 2,247 rescued dogs and 17 cats, many of whom need specialised treatments like physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to heal and thrive.

As our sanctuary grows, so do the challenges we face. The costs of medical care, food, and daily operations continue to rise, and we rely on the kindness of supporters like you to keep our vital work going.

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a world of difference. It provides veterinary care, vaccinations, neutering, shelter, nourishment and love to animals who have endured unimaginable hardship and gives them a chance at a better life.

Together, we can continue to bring hope to countless animals who are still waiting for their chance. Will you join us today?

Other ways you can help

Feed a sick dog for a day

Our sick dogs receive three nourishing meals a day. Good nutrition is vital to their recovery, helping to strengthen their bodies and giving them the energy they need to heal. A donation of £4 can help towards the cost of feeding a sick dog for a day.

Care for puppies for a day

Rescued puppies need extra care, warmth and nutrition to give them the best possible start. They need a safe place to rest, soft bedding, specialised puppy food and, when needed, puppy milk. A donation of £15 can help towards the cost of caring for puppies for a day.

Neuter and vaccinate a dog

Neutering and vaccination help protect dogs and communities in Sri Lanka. Neutering helps reduce the stray dog population and prevent future suffering, while rabies vaccination helps protect both animals and people. A donation of £35 can help towards the cost of neutering and vaccinating a dog.

Have a cart built for a disabled dog

Mobility carts can help disabled dogs with hind-limb paralysis or mobility problems move around more independently and comfortably. A specially fitted cart gives them valuable support as they explore and exercise. A donation of £100 can help towards the cost of having a mobility cart built for a disabled dog.

Neutering and vaccinations

We offer free neutering and vaccinations for stray animals and local pets, helping around 20 animals per programme. Neutering helps control the stray population, reduce suffering and limit the spread of transmissible venereal tumours, while vaccinations help protect animals and communities from diseases such as rabies. A donation of £700 can help towards the cost of running a programme.

Feed the sanctuary for a day

Every day, we provide nourishing meals for over 2,700 animals in our sanctuary and local community. Your support ensures these vulnerable animals receive the care and sustenance they need to survive and thrive. A donation of £1,150 can help towards the cost of a day’s feeding.
