Hi, I’m Flash! I arrived at the sanctuary in March 2022, disabled, weak and with no hope of surviving a harsh life on the streets of Sri Lanka. I also had babesia, a dangerous tick-borne disease, causing the destruction of vital blood cells, making me even more sick and frail.

But Animal SOS took me in as they do with so many otherwise, doomed street animals. They never gave up on me and pulled me through! Now, I’m growing up fast and hopping around our beautiful garden like a kangaroo (seriously, I’ve got moves!).

Even though I’m a happy, playful boy, I know life isn’t easy here. I don’t have a sponsor and like many of my special needs friends, it’s tough for the sanctuary to cover the costs for my care. People often ask the kind humans to rescue dogs like me, but only a few offer help with the care and expenses that comes after. Even with the challenges, I’m deeply thankful to be alive and surrounded by love. That’s all a dog like me could ever wish for.
