Meet Nutmeg 🧡

I had owners, but I had a miserable existence on a chain with no love and attention. Because the chain was so tight, I developed a life threatening neck wound and the wound became infested with maggots. I was in agony and so depressed. I thought I would die.

Fortunately my owners abandoned me because of the smell of my wound and I was rescued by Animal SOS Sri Lanka. My new lease of life started that day.

I was nursed back to physical health, but my emotional healing took longer. I was scared to trust again because of the way I had been treated. However, slowly, with lots of love and patience, I become a lovable and playful boy. Now, I'm always the first to greet the staff in the mornings.

I am such a lucky chap to have been given a chance to thrive, be loved and, most of all, be happy.
