Meet Potato 🧡🧡

​Hello, I’m Potato, and I arrived at Animal SOS in January 2024. I was cruelly dumped because I was disabled and left to die alone — sadly, this is the fate of so many disabled dogs in Sri Lanka. I was dragging myself along the road, desperately searching for help, with no idea if anyone would stop for me.

It’s likely I was injured after being bitten by another dog or in a road accident, which left me unable to walk properly. I was very unwell and suffering from babesia, a dangerous blood parasite disease. The team at Animal SOS nursed me through my illness, treated my wounds, and helped with my calcium deficiency. They never gave up on me — even when things were tough.

Today, I’m stronger, vaccinated, and absolutely loving life. I enjoy hydrotherapy by the seaside and zooming around in my cart in the garden. I’m a happy, sociable little guy… and I even found love
